2) The PADI eLearning system is an online learning experience that 100%
accommodates YOUR busy schedule
The PADI eLearning system allows you to take the academic portion of the PADI OpenWater course online, on your schedule, at your pace, and in the comfort of your own home or anywhere in the World.
What does it cover?
The PADI Open Water Diver course is, by far, the World’s most popular scuba certification course. Millions of people have started diving as certified PADI Open Water Divers. Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and motor procedures (skills, techniques, methods). The PADI Open Water Diver Course online provides the knowledge development portion you need. You develop the remaining skills by actually diving with a PADI Instructor at the Oceanus Dive Center.
How does it work?
After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace. You also will have e-mail contact with your Oceanus Dive Center instructor in case you have additional questions or comments.
What does it cost?
The PADI Open Water course is basically comprised of 2 parts. The first part is the knowledge development (academic) portion and the second part is the actual in water training. Thus, the PADI Open Water Diver Course online is the first half of your Open Water experience. You not only receive your knowledge development training but in addition you will have e-mail access to your Oceanus Dive Center instructor
that will bring you through your equipment familiarization and ultimately your water skills. In addition this Online course gives you unlimited future access to the electronic version of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (course textbook). Your academic course will be covered and completed online for just $120 (US) payable by credit card when you sign up online.
Additional costs.
There is an additional fee for the actual in in water portion of your certification. This fee is paid directly to the Instructor when you come in for your in water training. The basic rate for this portion of the training is $100 (US). If you already have your own quality mask, snorkel, pair of scuba fins and dive booties then great, you have your basic equipment needed. If you do not have the minimum required equipment your Oceanus Dive Center instructor will be happy to bring you through the in and outs of dive equipment to ensure you make a knowledge based quality equipment purchase that fits your personal needs. The Oceanus Dive Center has a wide variety of equipment for sale so don't worry about the equipment purchase before you arrive for your water training. You can also add the paper version of the text book for just $49.99. PADI does require the purchase of a Recreational Dive Planner (Table or eRDP version) and a log book, we can help with that as well. As you can see, learning to dive is far from the time crunching, vastly expensive myths you may have heard.
